The NYC Thorn is a weekly roundup of local political news compiled by members of NYC-DSA.
The first Thorn issue came out in February 2017, a whopping six years ago. With very few exceptions, we’ve managed to put 303 local news roundups, in-depths, cartoons, and interviews into your inboxes at roughly 8:15AM every Monday morning since. We initially started the newsletter as a tool to help NYC-DSA members become better acquainted with local politics at a time when many people were becoming politicized for the first time by Bernie, Trump and national politics at large.
We really appreciate how thousands of readers have come to embrace this humble weekly newsletter! To reflect our appreciation, we’re throwing a 300th Issue Party this Sunday, January 8th between 4-8 PM! The party will be held in on the Lower East Side at the NYC-DSA Office at 14 Jefferson St, New York, NY 10002.
If you have any Thorn thoughts, compliments, memories, gripes, visions, or just want to hang, please come see us at the party! There will be pizza and drinks.
