The antiwar protests at Columbia University and NYU have continued despite mass arrests by the NYPD earlier this month, and encampments have now spread to CUNY campuses. City & State has aggregated what all New York elected officials have said about the protests.
Mayor Eric Adams released a budget proposal for New York City's fiscal year 2025. Like his previous budgets, it contains cuts to city services, like libraries, despite higher than anticipated tax revenue, although Adams has reversed proposed cuts to the NYPD.
The housing deal reached in this year's State budget is likely to fall far short of the targets for new housing construction.
