Primary day is tomorrow, June 24th! Find your poll site here. Polls are open 6am-9pm. We likely won’t know the results of ranked choice voting until July 1st.
Senator Bernie Sanders endorsed Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani in his bid for Mayor, saying that “We need new leadership that is prepared to stand up to powerful corporate interests & fight for the working class.” Mamdani was also endorsed by David Hogg’s political group Leaders We Deserve.
A group of economists from around the world published a letter in support of Mamdani’s policy proposals.
Former Governor Andrew Cuomo has received the endorsement of Representative James Clyburn (who helped Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential primary over Bernie Sanders) and former president Bill Clinton in his bid for Mayor.
NYC Comptroller and Mayoral candidate Brad Lander was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement while observing immigration hearings at 26 Federal Plaza.
The Hate Crimes Task Force at the NYPD is investigating death threats made against Mamdani. In response, Brad Lander has called for Cuomo’s Super PAC to stop airing incendiary anti-Mamdani ads.
The Campaign Finance Board rejected a request by the Mamdani campaign to increase the campaign’s spending cap. The request was made in response to a Cuomo-aligned Super PAC raising over $24 million, much of it going towards anti-Mamdani advertising and mailers.

Recent Columbia graduate Mahmoud Khalil, who was taken by ICE agents to an immigration detention center in Louisiana, was released on Saturday, after 104 days in detention.
To comply with Mayor Eric Adams’s proposal for a city-wide 15 mph speed limit on e-bikes, Citi Bike has lowered the maximum speed of their fleet.
Mayor Adams wants to rip up the street safety improvements on Bedford Avenue (between Willoughby Avenue and Flushing Avenue). A judge recently blocked the move.
Mayor Adams has abandoned a long-in-the-works plan to switch city retirees to a privately-administered healthcare plan, after fierce opposition.
